Volunteer fees will now be $100/child for the longer winter season and $50/child for the shorter summer season. This is to encourage all families to volunteer at the community centre, instead of just paying. We want people to get involved and show their children the importance of volunteering and giving back to their community. We offer many different options to volunteer, so working around most schedules is possible.

The boys earned a 4-1-1 record in playoffs against six other teams from south Winnipeg and Lorette, then rallied to upset Southdale 4-2 in the final. Coach Maria Fedorowich lauded the Knights' gritty play. "They really dug in and came together as a team, particularly after falling behind one-nothing early in the first half. I'm so proud of them."

Many of the boys formed the core of last year's team that won the U9 in-district championship.

Although the progress has been immense over the last couple of months and things look like they are very close to completion, we recently found out that the cement floor has not cured properly due to the humid, wet conditions. What this means is another delay, since the flooring cannot be installed until the moisture content in the floor has dropped. It is now looking like the new building may not be complete until the new year, but we can still keep our fingers crossed!

We thank everyone for their patience in this matter, and look forward to finally moving in the new year.
